I came to this website to find out what happened to John. I think he has a great radio voice and a poignant (although periodically caustic) sense of humor. I like the repoir he has with Doug; I think they work well together. I don't watch television, so I won't see John there. John is far right, but I try to listen to many sides to become educated and I appreciate what John says. I do like Geraldo...I think he is a pro and I like that he has lots of guests that express different views. This website, however, is about John and I wish him good luck.

John, first - was that guy who called in and said the hunt for Dornan was racially motivated - was he kidding?
Second - The schools in Riverside County got additional security during the hunt for Dornan. Does "additional security" mean armed guards? Does this mean that putting armed guards at a school will increase security? Wouldn't it be enough to tell Dornan that this was a gun-free zone and he wasn't welcome?

I can't help but feel that you're the Rodney Dangerfield of KABC. You just can't get any respect. You finally got your own time slot after Doug's show. So far, so good. Things were going well, then you were summoned to the manager's office for a sit down meeting only to be told Heraldo was getting your time slot. That stinks! When are you finally going to say, "enough!" and go over to a radio station that appreciates you?

My wife and I were listening to you fill in for Larry Elder last Thursday. You were talking about "Swatting" and you played a recording of a sheriff's dispatcher and we looked at each other and said, "That's Ms. Cousins!" She and I are partners and I was sitting next to her when that call came in. I'm a Watch Deputy at Lomita Station. I told her that night that she was a radio personality and she had a blank look on her face; she's not a listener of Larry's show. I was wondering if there is a way I could get a recording of that segment to play for her. She and her kids would get a big kick out of it. I was also wondering how you ever got a copy of that call. Not that I expect you to reveal any confidential sources but I'm just curious.

And that wasn't the first call we had like that. I took a similar call a few month (not sure exactly) earlier and I actually heard a gunshot over the phone. It turned out to be a hoax also but we were scrambling around at the station trying to find out where the caller might be since he had given us a bogus address. Never did find him.

Your segment on the ethnic cleansing -- this was going on in Highland Park for years. The Mexicans said their people had been there since the '50s and they didn't want blacks there.

listened to you on free speech friday this am. you got a call from a man who advocated armed rebellion if they threw out the second ammendment. while his idea was a bit extreme and possibly treasonous, you just hung up on him and told him to call back with a sober thought. i thought you were out of line. free speech involves listening to ideas you are not always in agreement with. then you later made a few cracks about people with rascist ideas and crazy people who always begin their comments with, "i am not a ------ but." afraid those statements are not really fair on free speech friday because you would not take or allow calls from rascists or crazies. of course if anything goes, then your comments should too. that is free speech.

I have heard a lot of talk about taking guns & high capacity clips away from honest citizens. But those of us that own guns know it will only harm the honest citizen. I have also heard we should have security guards at all schools which would be costly and seems to scare a lot of people that don't like guns.

What I have not heard anyone talk about is putting security doors or security bars on the doors in classrooms (which start at around $50). That way each classroom could be locked down in seconds and be somewhat safe until the police arrive. That would be a quick fix, would be fairly inexpensive and would solve a lot of the pro-con gun issues by completely avoiding them.

Please give John back his show. He is the one that keeps us in touch with L.A. and what is happening there. We want some local shows. Get rid of Texas, get back to L.A..

Hi John! Nice web page. Definately better than most I've seen. First, I want to let you know that I am a big fan. Being an old history major in school(older than you, that is) I am impressed with your knowledge and your use of older (from pre 1990's) cultural references, and your ability to find a comedic angle to almost any news story.

Second, I enjoyed you on "Red Eye" and wish you could be on more shows. I guess you can't be in NY all that often.

Third, as a regular listener to you and Doug, I am mortified that you guys always go to the vile liberal activist Sam Donaldson for analysis and his added commentary passing for news statements. He recently said on another show that the Tea Party ticked him off by saying that they wanted to "take back their country." Never mind that leftists have been saying this since George HW Bush's term. He said "It's our country now," and they need to deal with it. Every time Donaldson is on your or Doug's show, he demonizes Republicans and conservatives, today saying again, that the Republicans have no moderate or liberal arm of their party anymore. This is would be laughable if it weren't so preposterous. We all know that the Democrats have exorcised all conservative elements from their party and are now just a gang of Stalinists out to destroy all who oppose them. Neither Doug nor you corrects him, ever. You may be required to use this leftist turd, being on the ABC network, but for the sake of all that is Holy, don't use the Stalinist Donaldson for political analysis if you don't have to. Just a little historical perspective to possibly explain why the "most progressive state in the union" …. hasn't:

163 years ago --- 1850:

- California became a state.
- The people had no electricity.
- The state had no money.
- Almost everyone spoke Spanish.
- There were gunfights in the streets.

Hi John. So, I'm listening to the end of the Doug McIntyre Show this morning, and at 900 the ABC News segment comes on. They lead off with a story about how ICE has just had a big sting operation to arrest the large number of child molesters and also "rescue" a number of children. OK, I say, that's interesting - ICE - Immigration & Customs Enforcement is behind this. Shouldn't we be hearing something else about these "people" who were arrested? I mean does ICE do law enforcement of regular US citizens now? Well, I guess so, because the words "illegal aliens" or even "undocumented immigrants" were not ever uttered. Hmm. What with this? (Well of course we all know - ABC News Directive No. 5873: You shalt never use the words "illegal aliens" or other such descriptions for these poor helpless people who just want a better life, even if they are child molesters, drunk drivers or murderers. Our delicate citizens must be protected from this hate speech at all times!).

John, Thank you so much for having Rob Marikno on your show - it was great to hear his voice again. Larry Van Nuys has been nice to hear as well. Having you replace Doug for the whole week I was off work was a special "Christmas" gift! Thank you again and Happy New Year (well almost)!

In 1776 Muskets were the ASSULT rifles of the times.... the 2nd Amendment doesn't address type of weapon but rather PEOPLE. The founders knew PEOPLE (tyrants) were the problems to a FREE Republic..... and it's more so today... As to loading a musket it can be done in 45 seconds...... not 10 minutes (another dumb ass comment from the uniformed).

With all due respect to your guest (the guy from CNN), his (and others like him's) "solution" to Gun Violence is akin to raking the leaves off of what USED to be someone's front lawn (after a storm destroyed their home) - and thinking they've "done something" to help! As I understand it, it took Law Enforcement (aka someone with a GUN) about 20 MINUTES to reach Sandy Hook Elementary School...
EVEN with a manual load weapon (I'm no gun expert [nor do I own a gun], so forgive me, if I don't refer to it correctly) - requiring EACH ROUND to be loaded into the chamber (aka "cocked") before it can be fired - like Lee Harvey Oswald used to kill President Kennedy, Lanza STILL could have killed the 26 people with NO PROBLEM! According to the research, Oswald took a little under 5 seconds between the two shots that hit President Kennedy...
20 Minutes = 1200 seconds / 5 Seconds per shot = 240 shots (assuming he had 240 bullets).
I've also seen clips on YouTube of a guy with a rifl! (also manually cocked) shooting (hitting) two targets with a mere 3 seconds between shots. Granted, it would have taken some time to "reload", but to suggest that guns that can "only" hold 10 bullets, and that must be manually cocked (the non-semi-automatic weapons) would have prevented this tragedy is ABSURD, MORONIC, and IGNORANT of the FACTS!
THE problem is NOT the GUN (nor how many bullets it fires, nor how fast), but the PEOPLE who use them for EVIL! Let us ALSO not lose sight of the FACT that Lanza was violating SEVERAL EXISTING LAWS (he was too young to HAVE a gun [at least the gun shop where he tried to purchase one refused on that basis], and it's ALREADY illegal to MURDER PEOPLE [to say nothing of simply shooting AT someone (whether they die or not)]). Anyway I agree, you are a great host and so is Doug. I enjoy you both. As already stated you both need your own shows and need time to have callers on the show. I like that the best. Doug and Red Eye Radio was great and he was a natural with callers. Never listen to it anymore since they changed hosts. I listen to the mcintyre show more than Bill handal over all because Handal is inconsistent in his views. As for the election results and telling the republicans that they need to be more modern or inclusive how are they going to do anything when their base didn't(and may not in a future more modern eclectic base) show up to vote?

The gap between Obama and Romney was 2million The Republican's had 3million people who didn't vote republican may be 3rd party or stayed home!!! These are white voters who believed that Romney was too moderate so they cast a protest vote. Obama was down by 10million votes.

John, Enjoy you on KABC. I like your rational thought process. One thing I never hear discussed on talk radio is how much the Federal Govt has grown under Mr Obama. Since 2/2008 the Fed Gov ( w/o US Post Svc) has added 217K people or 11%, approx 4 billion $'s per year! This info is from the BLS databases. Granted, local and state govs have declined by a combined 566K people, that's only because they have to balance their budgets. I find it incredulous that the Feds would grow by 11% during a recession.
Again, I can't believe this doesn't get any airplay from conservatives during an election year.
